The four days of competition combining finswimming and apnea concluded with several different open water distance finswims in beautiful Zihuatanejo Bay. With teams traveling to the Alberca Olimpica in Zihuatanejo from Chiapas, UNAM in Mexico City, and our local Titans representing Guerrero the championship was well represented! It was a wonderful atmosphere with families joining the competitors encouraging them to reach new personal bests.
Of the many highlights, Luz Graciela Vifueras Tagle from team Narvales F.I.M., reached an incredible Dynamic Bi-Fins distance of 150 meters, beating out even the first place men's finalist by almost 40 meters.
The volunteers and safety team were dedicated and pulled together the logistics required for this large scale event. The many local sponsors and associations along with dive shops and businesses all contributed to create a safe and special event for everyone involved.
